If I had to choose one word to describe the spiritual healing and detox retreat in October, it would be “Magical”. BUT, more importantly, if I had to choose one word to describe what made it magical, it would easily be the word “flow.”
I have learned a few things about hosting retreats, especially at Hestia, and the biggest and most challenging lesson of all was to put “aces in places” and get out of the way. And that’s exactly what we did for this retreat.
We brought in some of the best practitioners to offer yoga, movement, art, sound and meditation. We set it all up on the sacred land and prepared nourishing food from beginning to end. And we invited those who were called to join us to sign up. And they did… and it was incredible.
Much like the 5 day detox, everyone had a different goal. For some it was to rest and restore. For others it was to renew and inspire. For some it was to start over.
And you know what, everyone got what they came for and so much more. New friendships emerged. Laughter was nearly non-stop. Meals were spent together. So many new learnings were shared. And of course.. There was nap time.
As we plan our retreat calendar for next year, “flow” will be the theme and “aces in places” will be the framework. But honestly, no two retreats will ever be the same. So just trust that when you’re called to go, you should. And what you want to get out of it, will be yours for the taking.
